Our Historic Buildings


Our historic buildings have been grouped into categories, as a way of introducing them and as a way of helping you to browse; they seem to make more sense this way instead of alphabetically. We have quite a few don't we? When you see them listed on the page this way it can be a surprise to non-Devonport residents, even within our own city of Plymouth: "Wow, didn't know these were here" is often heard from visitors.

Most of the structures mentioned below were built during the 1800s, but for the purposes of this website the definition of 'historic' is anything more than 50 years old; anything less than 50 years old we will term as a current building. Just to draw a line.
